What is the minimum kit for a small flooring repair? — Cleaning and scraping tools, the primer and patch approved by the patch manufacturer, the adhesive named in the flooring manufacturer's instructions, a knife with fresh blades, the trowel the adhesive data sheet specifies, a mixing bucket and paddle, gloves and eye protection, plus finish material for the repair area with 10–15% extra.
How do I know the patch and adhesive are compatible? — Read both data sheets. The adhesive instructions list acceptable substrates, and the patch instructions list acceptable topcoats and cure times. When either document is silent, ask the manufacturer's technical line — or bring both sheets to the Pro Desk and we'll check them with you.
How much patch compound should I buy for a spot repair? — The smallest complete unit that covers the area. Opened bags of cementitious patch pick up moisture and lose strength, so a partial bag saved from a prior job is not a reliable repair material.
What PPE does repair work need? — At minimum gloves, eye protection, and knee pads. Grinding or scraping calls for dust protection, and solvent-based primers and adhesives call for the ventilation and respiratory protection listed on that product's safety data sheet.
